Don Gallia
harmonica, vocals

Harmonica player Don Gallia grew up in East Dallas. Of Czech descent, he comes from a rural Czech farming family that immigrated to Texas through the Port of Galveston and settled in the Blackland Prairie that stretches from South Texas to Oklahoma. Most of his family still live in Penelope, east of Hillsboro. He got the farming gene and has worked as a landscaper for most of his life. Don has played and recorded with a number of bands in Dallas over the past 20 years.

At 13 Don bought his first harmonica at Woolco Department Store for $3.00. He taught himself to play using the enclosed instruction booklet and has been at it ever since. Don says that the players he has been most inspired by are Stevie Wonder, Mickey Raphael, Lee Oskar, Buddy Greene, John Mayall, and Terry McMillan.
